Qu’elles
soient sur le littoral ou au bord d’une rivière, constituées de sable
ou de roches, les plages sont des espaces naturels à l’interface entre
milieu terrestre et aquatique. Elles constituent à ce titre des
écosystèmes essentiels, abritant une
biodiversité fragile et unique, qu’il est important de préserver. Mais
la plage est aussi un lieu privilégié de rencontres et d’activités
humaines, qui ne sont pas sans impacts pour l’environnement. Par exemple
« le fait de retirer la laisse de mer, c’est-à-dire le mélange de
coquillages, d’algues et de bois flotté naturellement amené par la
marée, a des conséquences particulièrement néfastes pour la
biodiversité. Cela appauvrit le sol et empêche le développement des
plantes qui permettent aux espèces inféodées à ces milieux de se
nourrir, de se réfugier et de se reproduire » (article de Hortense

de mieux connaître ces milieux et les pressions anthropiques qu’ils
subissent, FNE OcMed organise une campagne de mobilisation et de
recensement des atteintes environnementales et des initiatives
favorables relevées sur les plages de son territoire. Cette campagne nous permettra de dresser un état des lieux : - des atteintes les plus récurrentes afin de mieux comprendre la nature des pressions sur
notre territoire, et de cibler nos actions par la suite ;
- des
initiatives favorables afin de les mettre en valeur, et d’encourager
ensuite les territoires concernés à prendre des mesures de conservation
de ces milieux.
